Charleston Weekend

I spent Labor Day weekend in Charleston visiting my friend where she is going to Law school. It was a much needed girls weekend. Charleston is a beautiful city with lots of history. I love how all the buildings are preserved, it feels like going back in time. This is just a snippet of what i did in Charleston, SC.

DAY 1- Rainbow Row and Battery Park

Outfit- PrettyLittleThing (HERE) (HERE)

We spent the day shopping on King Street and this Urban Outfitters was my favorite because of this architecture, which you can tell used to be an old theater. Arts and fashion = Perfection.

This is the theater that was used for filming The Notebook, felt like we were in a scene of The Notebook every time we walked past on King ST.

Rooftop parties

Outfit-  Top- Urban Outfitters      Skirt- Forever 21     Shoes- Wanted

Brunch @ Shelter for Bomb food & cheap drinks

Then spent the rest of the day on Sullivan’s Island

Last Day- We spent roaming around downtown

Carmella’s for Dessert. Cannoli Cake (Left) was my favorite. YUMM

A weekend in Washington D.C.

Where to stay- Dupont Circle- The Embassy Row Hotel

Dupont circle is a trendy location in DC with lots of hip lounges and cafes. My boyfriend and I went to DC for the weekend for our spring break and to celebrate his birthday. We drove since it is only four hours away from us. We stayed at The Embassy Row Hotel which I booked on Hotel Tonight, an app for hotel booking discounts. Discount code: PSWEENEY30 will get you $25 off your next booking. The hotel is right on embassy row so there is a whole street of beautiful embassy’s, they look like huge mansions. It is a great location with great places to eat right outside of the hotel. Parking is also a stress in DC, the hotel has valet parking for $45 a night. The hotel has a rooftop pool open from May-September which was closed when we stayed during March 9-11 :( So i would love to go back in the summer.

Room View

Outside of the Hotel

Things to do- Day 1

The first thing we did was go see the cherry blossoms because it was such a nice 75-degree day and we wanted to spend the day outside! We went to the tidal basin where they are lined around the water and walked to Thomas Jefferson memorial since I never been. I been to DC quite a few times, so I seen a lot of the other memorials.

A few were blooming but most still had buds- March 9

I wore a F21 skirt and denim jacket

My photographer ;)

After Tidal Basin we went to POV rooftop bar for lunch. POV has the best view of DC with a close view of the White House and Washington monument.

Duck quesadilla 8/10 and lamb pita 5/10

Hotel Washington (W) lobby. I loved the style of this hotel. Dress from ZARA and mini purse from Micheal Kors

Chandelier changed colors :)

DC City center- They hung pink lanterns for the month of March

Across from Dior, A changing wall mural

Milk bar has a lot of hype around their cereal ice cream. So we decided to try it and it just taste like plain cereal, nothing special about it but i thought the crack pie was pretty good.

Dinner at Pizzeria Paradiso- Pizza 10/10 So good! Right next to the hotel too:) There was also a french cafe we had for breakfast right next door to the pizza place and i had a Belgian waffle 10/10.

Day 2

We started the day at the Hirshhorn museum where they had the Yayoi Kusama Infinity Mirrors. Kusama is an 87 year old Japanese artist with an interesting story. This exhibit was an amazing and memorable experience. It runs till May 14, 2017 and it is worth to see but it is hard to get tickets with the popularity of the exhibit, I suggest you reserve tickets online at the Hirshhorn website or stand in line early about 8:30 or 9:00 am to get day tickets before the museum opens at 10 am. We went on a Friday morning at 8:45 and got in just fine.  Also with the popularity of the rooms you only get 20 seconds in the room, so be ready!

Everyone gets stickers to add to the room wherever you want :)

Library of congress- Jefferson Building

Dinner at Darlington House in Dupont Circle

Ravioli 8/10

Day 3

Brunch in Georgetown at Kafe Leopold , Salmon omelette 9/10 and Waffle 8/10

Finished the day shopping at The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City (Great 4 story mall)
